Bonu Azizova's Contribution to CISBAT Conference in Lausanne, Switzerland

13.09.2023

Bonu Azizova, a research associate from the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development (HNEE) and the Technical University of Berlin (TU Berlin) made a notable impression at the CISBAT "The built environment in transition" (International Conference on Solar Energy in Buildings and Urban Planning) hosted at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) from September 13 to 15, 2023.

On the first day, Azizova fielded numerous questions, particularly regarding energy-efficient conventional houses in Uzbekistan. Her expertise in addressing these queries demonstrated the relevance of her research to real-world challenges, fostering meaningful discussions among the attendees.

Azizova's involvement went beyond an engaging oral presentation; her poster presentation on the second day of the conference showcased cutting-edge research on innovative approaches to optimize natural energy efficiency in conventional buildings, capturing the interest of a diverse audience.

An interesting connection emerged during these interactions, as EPFL is currently constructing model houses based on student projects on its Lausanne campus. This shared interest in energy-efficient housing highlights the global relevance of the challenges and solutions discussed at CISBAT. The alignment of ideas between Azizova's work and EPFL's initiatives exemplifies the collaborative spirit driving advancements in sustainable urban development.

"I am pleased with the positive response to both my oral presentation and the poster session. The engagement and discussions reflect a shared commitment to finding viable solutions for sustainable living," stated Azizova.

It is noteworthy that Azizova's work, presented through a poster, was well-received, and her article has been accepted in the IOP series of conference journals listed in Scopus. The TU Berlin and HNEE communities, along with the broader scientific community, commend Azizova's contributions in addressing regional challenges and offering forward-thinking solutions with global applicability. As the conference concluded, Azizova's achievements stood as a testament to the impactful role of research in shaping a more sustainable and interconnected future.
